The Match Up

Fanshawe Falcons at Humber Hawks
September 16th, 2017
1:00 pm & 3:00 pm
Brampton Fairgrounds, Brampton

Last time out vs Fanshawe

In their last meeting, the Falcons traveled to Concord Regional Park to take on the Hawks. In game two of their double header the Hawks needed a win in the tight OCAA race, hoping to secure a play-off spot. Head Coach Duaine Bowles turned to Rachel Matheson-Green to salvage a split in their double header after a 10-3 Falcons win. Matheson-Green turned in one of her best performances of the season allowing one unearned run on 5 2/3 innings of work. The game was a pitcher's duel throughout as the Hawks didn't score their first run until the fifth, as Bonnie Gillingham broke the scoreless game with her first career home run to deep right-centre field. With the Falcons looking to capitalize with bases loaded in the sixth, Myranda Pierson came in to keep the game tied at one. Pierson induced a ground ball to get out of the jam and allowed the Hawks offense to take over. Consecutive hits from Franchetto and Murphy set the table for Terah Camilleri to crack her third homerun of the season and ultimately securing the Hawks their 13th win of the season.
