HAWKS KNOCK OFF CHAMPS AND ADVANCE TO BRONZE MEDAL

OSHAWA, ON: The Humber Hawks first game at the 2015 OCAA Championships did not go as planned as they lost 6-0 to the Fanshawe Falcons. The second game, an elimination affair, saw the Humber squad respond as never before. They mercied the 2014 defending OCAA champion and 2015 CCSA National Champion St. Clair Saints by a score of 11-1. St. Clair had been upset by the fourth place host Durham Lords in the first game of the day.

Game One saw the Hawks unable to mount any kind of an attack. The second place Falcons put up a crooked number in three innings, with two in the first, third and fifth.

The second game had the Hawks go up early, and tack on until they had a 6-0 lead. The Saints responded, but Humber pushed the score to 11-1 after five and a half innings. The Hawks were able to keep the Saints scoreless in the sixth and the game would be shut down then with a ten-run lead.

Humber will play Fanshawe at 10:00 am, with the winner going for Gold against Durham, and the loser claiming the Bronze.
