MISSISSAUGA, ON: The Humber Hawks were victorious in today's double-header against the Mohawk Mountaineers winning 10-0 in the first match and 7-3 in the second. The match took place at Humber's Wildwood Park, this Sunday, October 18th.

The teams were faced with extreme cold as the temperature hovered just above freezing. The cold was hard on both teams, however, Humber did not let the less than ideal weather faze them.  While the Mountaineers were fighting the cold, bundled in sweaters and toques, each of the Hawks had their gold uniforms showing.

Humber did not waste time getting on the scoreboard in the first game with Abigail Hill and Elisa Gregoris each scoring runs in the first. Humber had a phenomenal second inning with a total of five runs scored. The score was stagnant until the bottom of the sixth when Humber managed another three runs. A mercy ruling brought the game to a close after six innings leaving the final score at 10-0 for the Hawks.

Abigail Hill, Bonnie Gillingham and Elisa Gregoris of the Hawks each had a fantastic first game scoring two runs each. Humber's pitcher, Myranda Pierson also played a good game despite cold temperatures making it difficult to control and grip the ball.

The first pitch for the second game was thrown promptly at 3:00pm. Humber pulled out to an early lead with Terah Camilleri, Natalie Stoberman, Julia Catalano and Meaghan Murphy each scoring a run during the bottom of the second. Not letting up, Humber widened the gap scoring yet another two runs in the third inning. Just when it looked like there might be another shutout, Mohawk scored it's first two runs of the day bringing the score to 6-2 for Humber. The Hawk's Terah Camilleri brought the score to 7-2 in the fifth after an incredible home run. Mohawk managed to get one last run in during the bottom of the sixth leading to a final score of 7-3 for the Hawks.

While this will be the Mountaineers last game of the season, the Hawks will be out tomorrow for another double header at Wildwood. This time taking on Seneca in an attempt to make up games missed earlier in the season.
