HAWKS NEED EXTRA'S TO COMPLETE SWEEP OF MOHAWK

HAMILTON, Ontario: The Humber Hawks women's softball team went about business as expected in Game 1 in a 13-3 win, but were pressed into extra innings, in a 4-3 Game 2 win.

The first game was halted after six innings, as the Hawks had the mercy rule put into play with the ten run lead after five innings. This game, from the very first inning, was never in doubt.

The second game was much, much different. Mohawk held the lead for almost the whole game, and in fact, carried a 3-1 lead with three outs to go. Humber rallied in the seventh to tie, and then win it in the eighth. They pushed across a run and then held the Mountaineers off the board.

The Hawks season record now extends to 8-1.

On Tuesday, they will take to their home field of Wildwood Park for a make-up doubleheader with the Seneca Sting.
