HAWKS A WIN AWAY FROM PLAYOFFS AFTER SLOW START AT NATIONALS

FREDERICTON, NB: It was pretty clear that the Humber Hawks men's team were in peril of not advancing to the medal round at the 2019 CCAA Curling Championships, but back-to-back wins has put them just a win away from advancing to the medal round.

The latest win, which drew Humber into a 3-3 mark, came at the hands of the OCAA's Sault Cougars. It took the entire 10 ends to get it done, but the Hawks prevailed 7-6 with a score of one in the last end.

The last time these two teams met at Nationals, it was the Humber squad that won the gold medal match, producing Humber's first and only curling national crown.

Humber will now take on Lakeland (ACAC) on Monday, in a battle of winner moves on and loser goes home.

The match is set for 8:30 EST on Monday.
