Goddard Spins Gem To Vault Hawks Into National Semifinal

BRAMPTON - The Humber Hawks men's baseball team have advanced to the NCBC National Semi-Final on Friday night by way of a 6-0 win over Cegep John Abbott on Thursday night.

With the win, combined with an earlier pool play win over Thompson Rivers University, Humber finished first in Pool B with a perfect 2-0 record.

Freshman Anthony Goddard pitched the Hawks to the win. His complete game line included a season team-high 13 strikeouts. He surrendered just two hits on the night. For his efforts, he was selected as the Player of the Game.

Offence came from up and down the entire line-up, but it was a monstrous home run by Aidan Murphy that pulled the fans out of their seats.

Humber will face the winner of the Durham/John Abbott semifinal game at 7:00 pm on Friday night at Connorvale. The winners will advance to the gold medal on Saturday afternoon, while the losers will vie for bronze.
