Hawks Roll To Ninth Straight Win By Way Of 10-1 Home Win Over Huskies

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks jumped out to a big lead over the first three innings and rode the tide the rest of the way to defeat the George Brown Huskies 10-1 on Monday night at Connorvale Park in Etobicoke. With the win, the Hawks improve their league leading mark to 11-2, while the Huskies dropped to 2-8.

Matt Stoddart was the recipient of the 8-0 lead after three innings, and he went on to pitch six innings on his way to his second win of the season. Ian Zwartz, making his second appearance of the season, had a clean sheet in the seventh.

Stoddart's line was solid, surrendering a single un-earned run, while giving up six hits and striking out five.

Three Hawks had two knocks on the night, led by Hawk Nation Player of the Game Jared Gonsalves. Stephen Narhabeki and Cam Wilcox were the other two Hawks with a pair of safeties. In total, Humber produced eleven hits.

The Hawks offence was put in gear early due to a number of walks and a total of four errors on the night by the Huskies. Humber scored two in the first, and followed that up with three in each of the next two innings. Jack Middleton was tagged with the loss.
