PLAYOFF RACE HEATS UP FOR HUMBER BASEBALL

ETOBICOKE, ON:  The Humber Hawks baseball (3-5, 4th OCAA) program picked up two big points Wednesday night and will be looking to extend their win streak this weekend when they host the Fanshawe Falcons (6-2, 3rd OCAA) and the St. Clair Saints (8-0, 1st West).

With the win over Seneca (2-8, 5th OCAA), the Hawks moved into a playoff spot and are now looking to at least maintain or move up in the standings.  On Saturday, October 1st, the Falcons will head to Connorvale and play the Hawks for the first time this season.

The Falcons come into this game red hot and have won six consecutive games.  Offensively, Fanshawe has a lineup with three hitters already in double-digit hit totals, all with batting averages north of .400.  Tyler Rymal, the Falcons workhorse, will enter the weekend with 3.20 ERA in 15 innings of work.

After the Falcons, the Hawks will have their hands full with the powerhouse St. Clair Saints (8-0, 1st OCAA), winners of three consecutive provincial championships.  Earlier this season at Lacasse Park, the Saints won both games of the doubleheader against Humber.

Saturday's doubleheader against Fanshawe will be live streamed (weather permitting) by click here. Game times are set for 1:00pm and 3:00pm.
