HAWKS BASEBALL SET TO BEGIN SEASON ON THE ROAD

TORONTO, ON: The Humber Hawks men's baseball program will begin pursuit of their third OCAA medal Friday night when they begin the season on the road against the George Brown Huskies.  First pitch is scheduled for 8:50pm at Wishing Well Park.

The Hawks recently completed their grueling exhibition schedule after playing eight tough games in eight days.  The Hawks finished 5-3 during that time, including a doubleheader sweep of the Laurier Golden Hawks, a program that finished 14-4 in the OUA last season.

After finishing the regular season 12-8 last season – good enough for second place – the Hawks swept the season series with the Huskies 4-0.  All-time, Humber is 10-0 against George Brown since the beginning of 2013.

As hosts of the 2016 OCAA Championships, the Hawks hope they will be able to capture the program's first-ever gold medal on their home diamond.  Veteran leadership will be important to help lead this young roster that features 13 freshman student-athletes.
