HAWKS NO-HIT GOLDEN HAWKS IN 8-0 GAME ONE WIN

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks men's baseball team, on field at home for the first time this pre-season, knccked off the Laurier Golden Hawks in game one by a score of 8-0 on Wednesday afternoon at Connorvale Park.

Both teams entered the game right in the middle of there pre-season, looking and giving opportunities for all players to display their skill.

On this afternoon, it was the Hawks pitching staff that burst out of the gate, as five hurlers combined for the no-hit shutout. The visiting Golden Hawks did have opportunities by way of walks and a couple of errors, but could not break through. Only one Laurier reached third base on the afternoon.

The Hawks went up 2-0 early and then doubled it to 4-0 just an inning later. A big 5th put the game away.

Second-year slugger Ken Hanfield was the batting star, going 4 for 4, while knocking in 3 runs.
