THREE HAWKS HONOURED AS OCAA BASEBALL ALL STARS

LONDON, ON: Three members of the 2015 Humber Hawks men's baseball team were selected to the OCAA All Star team, announced Thursday night at 2015 OCAA Championship Banquet at the Delta Armouries Hotel, in downtown London.

For the third time in as many years, Hawks standout Centerfielder Daniel Campos was selected to the 2015 squad. Beyond establishing himself as the top outfielder in the league defensively, he has registered his most productive season at the plate. He is among the leaders in many of the offensive categories, including; runs - 20 (2nd), hits – 21 (4th), walks – 12 (3rd), stolen bases – 10 (5th), on base percentage -.522 (3rd) and batting average - .389 (7th).

A second time All Star, James Byrnes has produced his best numbers to date. Byrnes, who orchestrated a perfect game last year, was very sharp all year as indicated by his ERA of 1.22. In one of his stellar performances of the year, he went nine innings against the champion St. Clair Saints, only surrendering a single earned run.

Sean Mattson, an OCAA All Star for the second consecutive year, also nabbed the OCAA Player of the Year award. A former member of Canada's Junior National Program, he continues to be one of the most feared players in the league, with his average hovering well above the .400 mark and his league second best 23 RBI's. His 427' moon shot over the 402' sign in centerfield at Connorvale Park is the longest in Hawks history. Defensively, at shortstop, he provides the Hawks strength up the middle as he has great range and a powerful arm.
