TRIP TO GOLD GAME JUST ELUDES TANEJA AND TOURAY, WILL PLAY FOR CCAA BRONZE

TRURO, NS: The Humber Hawks men's doubles pair of Arpit Taneja and Ayubu Touray came within a whisker of advancing to the 2019 CCAA National Badminton gold medal game, but still have a solid shot at a podium spot as they will play for bronze on Saturday afternoon at Dalhousi A.C. in Nova Scotia.

With the match tied at one set apiece, the duo fell behind 7-1 early but found their game and eventually held a slim 19-18 lead late in the deciding set. They were unable to get a fortuitous bounce the rest of the way and dropped the set in extra points, 22-20.

They will face a familiar foe in the pair from George Brown of the OCAA. Taneja and Touray beat the Huskie two-some to win OCAA gold three weeks ago.

Taneja will be seeking his second national podium finish, while Touray is looking for his first.
