HAWKS COMBO OF ROWE/DUONG JUST A WIN AWAY FROM CCAA WOMEN’S DOUBLES GOLD

TRURO, NS: The Humber Hawks women's doubles team of Chloe Rowe and Victoria Duong have sailed unscathed through the 2019 CCAA Badminton National Championships, going undefeated and not dropping a set along the way. They have led the entire tournament with an average of 21 points for and only 7.5 points per set against.

With their straight-set semifinal win on Friday afternoon, they will play for gold on Saturday afternoon in the event hosted by Dalhousie AC in Nova Scotia.

Humber will face the duo of Bea Bernardo and Ryo Kuramochi of NAIT (ACAC). The Hawks pair knocked off this very same team on Thursday in the second game of the round robin by scores of 21-4 and 21-10.

Rowe will be looking for her third straight national crown, while partner Duong is looking to secure her first.

Health has been the difference, as the three-week period between OCAA Provincials and the Nationals allowed Duong's injury to heal. With a healthy Duong and a rested Rowe, the Hawks have played their best badminton of the season.
