INSPIRATIONAL EFFORT BY CHLOE ROWE LIFTS HAWKS TO WOMEN’S DOUBLES GOLD

MISSISSAUGA, ON: On their way to winning the gold medal in women's doubles at the 2019 OCAA Badminton Championships, the pair of Chloe Rowe and Victoria Duong just completed one of the most incredible performances in OCAA history.

It was the combination of Victoria Duong's persistence in wanting to be on the floor despite an ankle injury that limited her to serving and standing in one spot throughout the championship, and the behemoth effort by two-time CCAA National champion Chloe Rowe. Rowe, almost single-handedly, catapulted the Hawks duo to gold and an upcoming trip to the 2019 CCAA National Championships, which are being held by Dalhousie AC in Nova Scotia.

After dropping a heart-breaking three-set match to their opponents from Fanshawe the night before, Humber had to play their final round robin game this morning. Due to injury and the inability to continue, Humber had to concede that match when leading in the first set at the 11-point mark.

As the playoffs drew closer, the two prepared and valiantly stepped on the court for the semi-finals. They were able to dispatch their opponents in two straight sets, but the wear and tear on Chloe's face and body began to come through.

The final was epic, as Humber won the first set and Fanshawe snared the next. The third was what legends are made of, and with Rowe's efforts and Duong's refuse to quit attitude, the two brought home the gold.
