HAWKS RAMNISH KUMAR NAMED OCAA BADMINTON PLAYER OF THE YEAR

MISSISSAUGA, ON: Humber Hawks freshman Ramnish Kumar was named as the 2019 OCAA Men's Badminton Player of the Year today at the breakfast banquet to kick-off the 2019 OCAA Badminton Championships, which are being held at the University of Toronto – Mississauga (UTM) this weekend. With this announcement, Kumar will also be honoured as an All-Canadian, and his name will be brought forward as a nominee for the CCAA Player of the Year award.

"Ramnish is so deserving of this award, and it coming in his freshman year is very special", said Hawks head coach Karen Ng. "He brings so much to his team, and to the entire badminton community as well, and I am sure this played into his selection as the OCAA Player of the Year".

Kumar and his teammates will take to the floor at the OCAA Championships starting today, with the top two players in every discipline will advance to the 2019 CCAA National Badminton Championships, hosted by Dalhousie University on March 6-9,2019.
