# 2 RANKED HAWKS BADMINTON TEAM START QUEST FOR OCAA & CCAA HONOURS

ETOBICOKE, ON: The Humber Hawks, the premier program in the country for the past number of years, will once again look for OCAA Provincial and CCAA National honours as they will compete in the 2019 OCAA West Regional Championships this coming weekend on February 1 & 2/19 at Conestoga College in Kitchener.

The Hawks will compete in all five disciplines;

WOMEN'S SINGLES
MEN'S SINGLES
WOMEN'S DOUBLES
MEN'S DOUBLES
MIXED DOUBLES

The top three teams in each discipline at the end of regional play will advance to the OCAA Championships at the University of Toronto – Mississauga on February 15 & 16/19. The 2019 CCAA National Championships are slated for March 6-9/19 in Alberta.

The Hawks line-up has not been disclosed by Head Coach Karen Ng, but the Hawks will run out a number of outstanding players. They will be led by CCAA and OCAA Gold Medal Champions Chloe Rowe and Elizabeth Duong. Arpit Taneja, who won CCAA Silver and OCAA Gold last year, returns and should make another serious run at a national crown.

Freshman Ramnish Kumar has turned heads through the exhibition tournament season, and will be one of the players to follow closely.

Success has followed the Hawks already this season, as they ran away with tournament titles at the Humber and Fanshawe Invitationals.

The schedule has yet to be published, but play will begin on Friday morning and run through Saturday afternoon. Admission is free.
