HAWKS WIN FOUR OF FIVE EVENTS AT FANSHAWE INVITATIONAL THIS WEEKEND

LONDON, ON: Humber Hawks continued to dominate by winning four of the five events at the Fanshawe Badminton Invitational.

Men's Singles Champion:
Ramnish Kumar defended his men's singles title by defeating Seneca newcomer, Irving Xu in three games, 22-24, 21-17, 21-18. Unfortunately, due to injury, he had to withdraw from the doubles and mixed events.

Vikrant Thakur was defeated in the quarter finals by Irving Xu from Seneca.
Harry Cotaras was defeated by last year's CCAA silver medalist in three games in the round of 16.

Women's Singles Champion:
Chloe Rowe continued her winning streak by securing another women's singles title against last year's CCAA silver medalist, Anh Hoang from George Brown, 21-10, 25-23.

Maria Nguyen won the consolation title by defeating Sarah Nguy from Seneca, 21-16, 21-16.

Men's Doubles Semi-Finalists:
Arpit Taneja / Thao Le were defeated by the  strong duo of Alex Chao / Eric Kern from George Brown, 14-22, 24-26.
Ayubu Touray / Harry Cotaras were defeated by the eventual champs from George Brown, Ace Zeng / Mike Ra, 14-21, 23-25.

Women's Doubles Champions:
All Humber Final - Elizabeth Duong / Victoria Duong defeated teammates Chloe Rowe / Maria Nguyen in three games, 21-14, 20-22, 24-22.

Mixed Doubles Champions:
All Humber Final - Arpit Taneja / Chloe Rowe defeated teammates, Ayubu Touray / Elizabeth Duong 21-18, 21-18 and secured the last title for the three day tournament.

Harry Cotaras / Victoria Duong were defeated in the semi-finals by teammates, Ayubu  Touray be/ Elizabeth Duong, 21-13, 21-19.
