HAWKS ROWE CAPTURES U23 NATIONAL MIXED DOUBLES TITLE

ETOBICOKE, ON: Humber's freshman badminton sensation Chloe Rowe, who just recently swept both OCAA Provincial and CCAA National titles in women's badminton, continued her winning ways by winning the Badminton U23 National Mixed title in Moncton last weekend.

Rowe and partner B.R. Sankreeth, who entered the event as the second seed, went on to defeat the pairing of Jonathan Lai and Giselle Chan in the final. After losing the first set in the event to open the gold medal match by a score of 21-16, they went on to win the next two by dominating marks of 21-13 and 21-11.

"We are very proud of Chloe's accomplishment", said Humber Associate Director of Athletics and longtime Hawks badminton coordinator Michael Kopinak. "We look forward to her representing Humber with the same level of excellence and outstanding sportsmanship she has exhibited all year long, for years to come".

Rowe was also honoured this past year as the Humber Female Freshman Athlete of the Year.
