Teresa Da Silva signed her letter of intent to play basketball for Humber on Aug. 14, 2017. On Nov. 14, 2019, she scored her first regular-season basket for the Hawks. What happened in between would have derailed most careers but Da Silva's story is one of perseverance and determination. The five-foot-six guard from Etobicoke suffered consecutive knee injuries that prevented her from stepping on the court over the last two seasons.

Two knee surgeries and countless hours of rehabilitation later, Teresa worked her way back into playing condition. On Thursday, she played 14 minutes in Humber's 105-60 win over Niagara, finishing with three points, two rebounds, two steals, and an assist.

Khalid helped Humber basketball win its second straight game, defeating the Niagara Knights in overtime, 95-88. Trailing by ten points with six minutes remaining, the Hawks used a 21-10 run to force overtime.

Ismail recorded a career-high 22 points in the win, including seven of Humber's 12 points in overtime.
