Men's Volleyball: 2008-2013
Derek, as the Hawks starting setter for all five years at Humber, was the quarterback of these Humber squads in every sense of the word. On the court he dictated the flow of the game, involving all the offensive talents of his teammates that joined him on the floor to accomplish a positive outcome. These outcomes became championships. In fact, three OCAA titles and the Hawks first ever CCAA national crown ever later, left no doubt he was the key to this success. Individually, he was never given the league regular season accolades that should have been bestowed upon him, so he decided to make his own statement by being twice named the OCAA championship most valuable player. In the classroom, he was an outstanding student, garnering honours consistently.
The 2016 Humber Varsity Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Humber College's North Campus. Please join Derek as he is recognized for an incredible career.
